Do the upside down TopsyTurvy Tomato planers really work well?

Has anyone tried the Topsy Turvy hanging tomato planters? Do they work well? I live in an area where there is a lot of sun year round, but I’d like to commit more of my garden space to other vegetables. I’d love to hear of any experiences good or bad that you’ve had and would appreciate any sage advise. Thanks!

My friends grandpa got one and it worked excellent he said its better to grow them that way. He also had a TopsyTurvy strawberry planter also he said it was well worth the money. The tomato’s and strawberries turned out really good and he plans to use it every year.
